HOW TO REPORT ENVIRONMENTAL BREACHES
The polluter pays principle states that where possible, the costs of environmental damage should be covered by those causing it rather than the person who suffers the effects of the environmental damage, or the wider community.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and others monitor pollution but they cannot detect every incident especially when they are sporadic. You can report statutory nuisances, noise including from blasting, dust and light pollution to Fife Council here:

Gather as much evidence as you can. Record when (date and time) and where the incident occurred.
If you can take a video or photo, take a sound recording or even a sample, in the case of dust, these will help with further investigation. If you would like to let us know that you have reported an incident, please contact us.
